HUBBLE PHOTOS UNVEILED
On Monday, April 25th, at 10:00 AM, the Suits-Bueche Planetarium at the Schenectady Museum unveiled two of the largest and highest resolution photos ever taken by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Students from the Central Park Middle School, a NASA Explorer School, were joined by Planetarium Manager, Steve Russo, local politicians, museum board members, local astronomy club members, and the general public, to witness the unveiling of these two photos.
Approximately 200 people were in attendance to see these large photos of the M51 Whirlpool Galaxy, and the Eagle Nebula.
During the unveiling, a NASA DVD about the HST's 15th birthday played on the Suits-Bueche Planetarium lobby's plasma screens, while 80 visuals of the greatest hits of Hubble were shown in the lobby. All in attendance saw the planetarium presentation "Hubble Vision 2".
